What to expect

Bringing together Manor Royal businesses, stakeholders and supporters for this half day conference to review the progress made in the past year and assess how the area is changing. Includes a series of short break-out seminars with expert speakers, the launch of the Green Infrastructure Framework & Biodiversity Plan and something special to celebrate the 75^th Anniversary year of Queen Elizabeth II officially naming Manor Royal.

09:45     Welcome address, AGM and Annual Review

To cover: How the BID Levy and other funds has been invested. What was been delivered. What has changed. Includes election of BID Directors.  

10:30     Tea, Coffee and networking

Meet fellow Manor Royal companies, talk to key partners delivering services and helping to change Manor Royal, visit the “In Our Time” exhibition and participate in the “Spot the Queen” competition.

11:00     What Matters break-out sessions

Delegates choose from one of three seminars:

Seminar 1: Gatwick Matters - the latest news from Gatwick Airport, update on the outcome of the Northern Runway proposals and the opportunities presented by a thriving airport to Manor Royal and beyond.

Seminar 2:  Sustainability Matters - includes the launch of the Green Infrastructure and Biodiversity Plan, how that fits as part of a vision for a more sustainable Manor Royal and the opportunities and implications for the Business District.

Seminar 3:  Devolution Matters - learn about one the biggest shake-ups in local government in our lifetime, what a new mayoral combined authority means for Sussex and the challenges and opportunities that could bring to our economy.

11:45     Plenary session: Manor Royal Question Time

A facilitated debate involving representatives of Manor Royal businesses and the BID Board to discuss the economy, business life, current challenges, future opportunities and hopes for a better business and working environment. Includes opportunities for audience participation.

12:15     Networking lunch
