Smart Aviation, the global aircraft charter specialist, has today announced an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) charter partnership between Air Arabia Maroc and charter airline company Getjet Airlines.

Air Arabia Maroc, part of Air Arabia group, the largest low-cost carrier in Middle East and North Africa, contacted Smart Aviation for support last week following the late delivery of an aircraft. After non-stop negotiations, Smart Aviation successfully secured a Latvia registered Airbus A320 from GetJet Airlines, one of their most trusted airline partners. On Thursday, 1 st August 2024, the first charter in the ACMI operation departed from Riga.

The ACMI operation will continue until delivery of the aircraft that will join Air Arabia Maroc’s fleet, and Smart Aviation will work closely with all partners to manage ongoing availability and operations.

Smart Aviation’s Managing Director Mark Hawkins said: “The market for ACMI is currently very tight and time was against us, so I am delighted that we were able to secure the perfect option for Air Arabia Maroc. GetJet Airlines have been a trusted partner of Smart Aviation’s since they were founded in 2016, and we can always rely on them to deliver an efficient and timely service, with well-maintained aircraft and excellent crew. I am very pleased that the ACMI operation is running very smoothly”.

GetJet Airlines is an IOSA registered airline headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Smart Aviation was founded in 2005 by Managing Director Mark Hawkins, an established charter specialist with over 30 years’ experience in senior operational roles within the travel and aviation industry, including managing sports charters at Excel Airways.
