Driving Sustainable Change in Manor Royal
Move It continues the journey towards a greener future. The Manor Royal BID’s “Move It” initiative continues making significant strides in promoting sustainable travel within our community.
Launched in September 2024 as part of the BID’s “Sustain & Renew” objective, Move It is a collaborative effort involving key partners from the Crawley Growth Program, including West Sussex County Council, Crawley Borough Council, Metro Bus, and EasitCRAWLEY.
What’s Happening?
This month, we're excited to share updates on our sustainability activities through the Move It initiative. Our dedicated Move It team is actively engaging with the community by organising free monthly Roadshows at various businesses in and around Manor Royal. These Roadshows provide a valuable platform for local companies and their employees to discuss important issues related to transport, parking, and congestion.
Not only are these events informative, but they also offer a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn how we can collectively contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle. We encourage all businesses in Manor Royal to participate and take advantage of this initiative to foster a greener, more efficient community.
Recent Highlights
This month's Roadshow built on the success of January's event, marking our second visit to Welland. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as we reconnected with familiar faces and warmly welcomed new friends. Among the familiar faces was the delightful Wayne Iddon, who showcased his culinary skills by preparing delicious sausage rolls that filled the air with a wonderful aroma. The event was engaging, offering knowledge and information on traveling more sustainably, as well as sharing the discounts available to all employees.
**Travel Survey We are happy to announce the names of the five lucky winners of our 'Move It' travel survey, conducted at the end of last year. Each winner received a £50.00
A massive thank you to everyone who participated and shared their invaluable opinions on how we can enhance travel within Manor Royal. Your contributions are deeply appreciated and will help us consider improvements.
Special congratulations to our winners:
Fun Facts for a Greener Tomorrow
Did you know that remote work has the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions? Research indicates that if more people worked from home just a few days a week, we could see a major decrease in traffic congestion, leading to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions comparable to taking millions of cars off the road. This shift not only contributes positively to our environment but also fosters a healthier work-life balance for countless employees.
