Major improvements coming to multiple routes across the network
Metrobus have announced another range of improvements to its services which will come into place on 27th September 2025.
Route 400 will receive a substantial frequency increase doubling to every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays, a change that is supported by funding from Gatwick Airport and the Surrey and West Sussex Bus Service Improvement Plans.
Additionally, Fastway route 100 has been revised in Horley to operate through Westvale Park via Meath Green Lane, Webber Street and Hoadley Road. Westvale Park will still be served by the revised 424 route, which will operate from Crawley Bus Station to Redhill Park 25 via Gatwick Road, Shipley Bridge, Copthorne, Burstow, Smallfield, Horley Station (main road), Horley, Horley Row, Westvale Park, Sidlow Bridge, Castle Drive, Woodhatch, Meadvale, Reigate, Timperley Gardens and Redhill Bus Station. Route 422 is replaced by these changes to the 424.
Fastway route 20 will be revised to serve more of the new Woodgate development in Pease Pottage including a stop at the new St Catherine’s Hospice. Fastway routes 20 & 100 are both operated by zero emissions hydrogen buses.
New timetables have been introduced on routes 420, 460, 480, 820 to improve reliability, providing these routes with more time to recover from delays. Routes 420 and 460, together with the changes to route 400, will provide four journeys per hour operating direct between Crawley, Gatwick Airport, Horley, East Surrey Hospital and Redhill Mondays to Saturdays.
